Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026 · Operated by Synctuary Works LLC

MyFishNavigator (“MyFishNavigator,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides AI-assisted fishing trip planning at https://www.myfishnavigator.com and related apps. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in these categories:

  • Account information — email address, password (stored securely by our auth provider), optional display name, and communication preferences (product updates and marketing emails).
  • Fishing & location data — locations you search or save (coordinates, place names, designated water bodies), saved trips, species preferences, notes, and map pins or waypoints you create.
  • User content — catch photos, captions, and other material you upload or submit (for example, to a community logbook or feedback form).
  • Subscription & billing data — plan tier, subscription status, and payment-related identifiers. Payment card numbers are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card details on our servers.
  • Usage & technical data — device/browser type, IP address, app version, pages or features used, and error diagnostics needed to operate and improve the service.
  • Support & feedback — messages you send us and any contact details you provide.

2. How we use information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • generate AI fishing briefings, maps, and related recommendations you request;
  • sync saved searches, catches, and settings across your devices;
  • process subscriptions and provide customer support;
  • send service emails (sign-in, password reset, billing receipts) and, if you opt in, product or marketing emails;
  • maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law;
  • understand aggregate usage and improve MyFishNavigator.

Briefings and chat responses may be sent to third-party AI providers to generate text. We instruct providers to use your data only to deliver the service, not to train public models with your personal content unless their policies state otherwise.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use your private catch photos or exact home address for third-party advertising profiles.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service, including with:

  • Supabase — authentication and secure account infrastructure;
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid plans;
  • OpenAI (or similar AI providers) — generating briefings and mapping insights you request;
  • Vercel and other hosting providers — serving the website and APIs;
  • Map & weather data providers — when you request geocoding, bathymetry, tides, or forecasts (typically location coordinates, not your email);
  • Email delivery providers — transactional and opt-in marketing messages;
  • Legal or safety — if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

If you choose to share catches publicly in community features, the information you mark as public (photo, species, general area) may be visible to other signed-in users.

5. Cookies & local storage

We use browser local storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Hosting analytics may collect aggregated, cookieless performance metrics as described by our infrastructure providers.

6. Data retention

We keep account and saved-trip data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or backup purposes.

7. Your choices & rights

  • Account settings — update your name and email preferences in Account after signing in.
  • Export & delete — signed-in users can export or delete account data from Account settings.
  • Marketing emails — unsubscribe using the link in any marketing message or turn off marketing preferences in Account settings. You may still receive essential service emails.
  • Location — location features are optional; you control when the app uses your device location.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection). Contact us to exercise those rights.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), authenticated APIs, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.

9. Children

MyFishNavigator is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data and we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate from the United States. If you access the service from other regions, your information may be processed in the U.S. or where our service providers operate, under protections described in this policy.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
